Drawing from the tradition of displaying insects and butterflies, Sullivan Meservey creates imagined lifeforms into objects of curiosity and wonder, encouraging viewers to think preciously about the hidden world within us. Working with wax-based colored pencil layered onto tinted paper, Meservey mounts and frames each piece complimentary to its palette. Meservey is inspired by both microscopic life and cosmic phenomena.  
Sullivan Meservey grew up in the Lost Pines outside of Austin. He earned a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2021 and has since developed a professional studio background in traditional fine art printmaking, including screenprinting, lithography, and mokuhanga. Meservey is An illustrator, an avid cyclist, and currently living with his cat in south austin.
